I don't think you understand that Norco doesn't expect to sell that many of the top end bicycles. If you wan't the best parts you can buy on your norco its available, but those models will be limited and will be vastly outnumbered by the more reasonable priced/spec'd models.

If you outfitted an intense frame with the same spec list it would be in the same price range if not quite a bit more r-tard You could say the top end models of the norcos this year may be a little too high spec'd for their usual market share but instead you made a comment that was just wrong. PS mavic and I9 wheels are both well over 1000$ retail and you left out breaks, drivetrain (cranks are a big ticket item), cockpit and tires which add up to well over 1000$ There is nothing stupid about the pricing, next time ask a friend who can use a calculator before shooting your mouth off.

Probably goina find some killer deals on used fox stuff on bike buy'n'sells/craigslists around north america pretty soon. Up to everyone to decide if its worth the risk of possibly supporting thieves.

Dear people who can't grasp why steal a vehicle with fox everywhere... Step 1: steal truck full of expensive shit Step 2: gut all expensive stuff out of truck and trailer Step 3: drop off truck and trailer where-ever convenient in any condition Step 4: profit Sucks for fox but I bet you'll see more than a few cheap ti springs up for sale some time soon. It's up to you the buyer to be sure what kind of goods you are buying and how willing you are to go for that super deal.

seems a little early to be activating the hype machine

basic theory would say that a larger canister will get the same forces at lower pressures. So you won't need to run as high a pressure meaning more squish, less heat, and less pressure on the seals.

I'd bet they do not offer their no questions asked warranty program on the xc wheels because while they are strong compared to the competitors xc rims they probably aren't nearly as strong as the DH ones and could break from misuse.

I wonder how they will be cashing in on this free film, maybe more advertising dollars due to a massive audience? Obviously distribution costs and the cost of dvd production on top of a limited audience probably doesn't leave much profit in the traditional system.

The problem I have is that because you are effectively running a 135 mm hub with spacers you aren't getting any wider stance flanges. That pretty much makes the additional stiffness non existent. Maybe hub manufacturers are going to look into making 142mm specific hubs but really it seems the spacing was only created to ensure the patent could be secured. The derailleur hanger is a nice work in but otherwise this product doesn't deliver much more than a 135mm * 12 setup with a lighter hollow axle. Seriously though you can get aluminum axles already in 135*12 that way well under 50 grams. In the end its an effective system but the advantages are so minor its not a factor worth considering when looking at bicycles unless you already have a wheelset that fits one way or the other. While some like ninjaty will say that new ideas improve the sport well yes some of them do, but most of them just improve marketing.

smaller freehub diameter could be issues if not steel. I like hopes take on integrating the rings and freehub together in one piece for strength/weight but definitely going to be an expensive thing to replace in case of wear. One downside to this design is it takes away weight from the bb area (best place to have weight on a bike) and adds it to the unsprung mass (2nd only to unsprung rotating mass as the worst place for weight). Also going to have a lot larger gaps between gears which isn't ideal for XC.

Your argument is the equivalent of saying if you bolt your car wheel on with 2 bolts it will hold and be stiff so why bother putting the other bolts in. It seems like these things are just a little over your head so maybe just stick to reading and replicating the manuals.

Guess what, before suspension technology started all the bikes looked EXACTLY the same. Was this because copy-cating was cool or maybe was it because the triangle design just was the smartest. Now it seems clear that most manufacturers find that rocker link to be a good way to gain stiffness while limiting weight, the fact they all do it is because it works. The other reason all the bikes you listed look similar is because they all use the same tube manufacturing technology. Unfortunately looks are the end of the similarity for most of them. You said the big hit was the least similar when really its the most similar. The small details of the linkage and geometry are what define the bike, not what it looks like.
